Holiday activities continue on Main Street

Main Street was a busy place on Dec. 8 as shoppers gathered to attend tree lighting and open house events held that evening. Santa was also on hand for a short time. Following Thursday night’s entertainment, Mayor Scott Anshutz said, “The tree lighting ceremony, although a bit on the chilly side, was a hit as was evident from the amount of kids who were in attendance. The Gregory County Polka Band went above and beyond to play Christmas music at both open house venues and I appreciate them and their talents. A special thanks to Santa for making an unscheduled appearance and to the Chamber, BID group and city for making it all possible.” He concluded by saying, “Merry Christmas to all.”
