Area students named to President’s list at Southeast Technical College

During National EMS Week, May 17–23, 2026, it is important to recognize the men and women who respond to emergencies at all hours, often balancing family, work, and personal responsibilities while serving their communities.

Autumn Hall of Bonesteel (57317) has been named to Southern New Hampshire University’s (SNHU) Spring 2026 President’s List. The spring terms run from January to May.

USDA approves emergency conservation assistance for Gregory Co.

Burke, S.D., May 18, 2026 – The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Farm Service Agency (FSA) in Gregory County is accepting applications for the Emergency Conservation Program to address damages from the ongoing drought. ECP provides costshare and technical assistance to producers to restore farmland to pre-disaster conditions following a qualifying natural disaster. ECP signup begins on May 18, 2026, and ends on June 17, 2026.

May proclaimed Archaeology & Historic Preservation Month

South Dakota Governor Larry Rhoden has proclaimed May as Archaeology & Historic Preservation Month in South Dakota. Dakota Honey issues voluntary recall

The Food and Drug Administration posted a news release on its website stating that a recall for some of Dakota Honey’s fourounce and 12-ounce containers sold between Dec. 19, 2025 and April 3, 2026, was issued on April 4. The honey was sold in South Dakota, Florida, and Georgia as well as nationwide through internet sales.
