The long-awaited 2023 Farm Bill is delayed. Some in Congress say it may get done, or at least get started by this spring, but others say it’s most likely to be held up until after the November election, meaning it would be completed during the lame duck session.

Gregory Public Library promotes 1000 Hours Outside initiative

Ever on the forefront of programming variety, the Gregory Public Library is now promoting a new initiative that actually takes participants out of the library and into the great outdoors. “1000 Hours Outside is the global platform for those who wish to reclaim childhood, reconnect families, and live a fuller life,” according to the organization’s website.

GHS students brings home Q107.3 Radio Quiz Bowl Championship

On January 6, three seniors, Trey Murray, Eli Barreto, and Nathan Fortuna, headed to the Pepsi Cola Theatre in Mitchell to compete in the quiz bowl finals sponsored by the Q107.3 radio station. They started their journey in September, when they were chosen by their teachers to represent Gregory, and brought it to an end winning $1,000 for their school a few weeks ago.

Commissioners tackle short agenda

The Gregory County Board of Commissioners had a short agenda to work through at their regular meeting at 9:00 a.m., Wednesday, January 17. Status of Chamber of Commerce director position finally settled

Several members of the Chamber of Commerce were in attendance at the regular meeting of the Gregory City Council on Tuesday evening, January 16, to further discuss the future of how the city will fund the Chamber director position. The council had decided during executive session at the last meeting to fund the position as a salaried employee until July 1, 2024, and in the meantime come up with a permanent solution.
