Andrew Chlebek is new pastor for Berean Fundamental Church

The search was lengthy, but the Berean Fundamental Church has found a new pastor. Andrew Chlebek began his ministry in Gregory the end of November, having moved to the area from Illinois where he was a youth pastor in a small town about a half hour from Champaign.

School remodeling almost done; auditorium is next

The regular meeting of the Gregory School District Board of Education was held at 5:30, Tuesday, January 10, 2023, in the high school conference room. Board has one month to look over audit Business Manager Kevin Myrmoe distributed a copy of the audit he received in December.

City council considers whether to move ahead with downtown project

Librarian Tara Engel led off the department head reports at the regular meeting of the Gregory City Council at 6:00 p.m., Monday, January 16. The quilt block ceiling tile project added a nice bit of color to the library without being overwhelming, according to Engel. Her financial report showed a gain of five patrons, bringing the total to 1,585. The report also showed lower numbers in usage for the month, which she attributed to being closed for snow days.

Lieutenant Governor Rhoden, Mr. Speaker, members of the House and Senate, Chief Justice Jensen, Supreme Court justices, constitutional officers, and my fellow South Dakotans: The South Dakota state constitution requires the governor to begin each legislative session by “[giving] the Legislature information concerning the affairs of the state and [recommending] the measures he considers necessary.” Notice I didn’t say “she.” The constitution doesn’t say that. We’re going to fix that.
