The Gregory Gorillas started Region 5B play with a 76-47 victory over the Burke Cougars on Tuesday evening, February 27, 2024, in front of the home crowd. The Gorillas got off to a blazing start and led 26-12 after one quarter.

Gregory hosted Colome in the first round region playoff game on Monday, February 19, 2024. The Gorillas jumped out early and led 22 to 7 after the first quarter and 45 to 12 at halftime.

The South Dakota State High School wrestling tournament was held in Sioux Falls on February 22-24, 2024. The Burke/Gregory Storm wrestling team had four wrestlers compete.

On February 20, Governor Kristi Noem announced that she will deploy South Dakota National Guard troops to the southern border later this spring. This will be the fifth time that the South Dakota National Guard has deployed to the southern border to assist in border security efforts during the Noem Administration.

SD Attorney General Marty Jackley is praising the Federal Communications Commission (FCC)’s decision to ban Artificial Intelligence-generated robocalls. The FCC decision, announced last week, makes illegal the voice cloning technology used in common robocall scams that target consumers.

The Lady Gorillas traveled to Colome on Monday, February 12, and picked up a 56-39 road victory. Quarter scores showed Gregory with 19, 26, 42, and 56, while Colome had stops of 10, 19, 30, and 39.

The Gregory Gorillas defeated the Platte/Geddes Black Panthers on Thursday evening, February 15, in a makeup game from earlier in the year. With the win, the Gorillas claimed the outright SCC Conference championship.

The Gregory Gorillas hosted the Wagner Red Raiders on Tuesday and came away with a 61-32 victory in an SESD conference clash. The Gorillas put forth a solid defensive effort in the first half holding the Red Raiders to just eight points at halftime while the offense put up 32 points.

Gregory 30 - Freeman 67 The Lady Gorillas traveled to Mitchell to take on the Freeman Flyers on Monday, February 5. Quarter scores show Gregory with 8, 14, 20, and 30, while Freeman had stops of 22, 41, 58, and 67.
