The Gregory High School varsity track team competed in the SESD conference meet in Platte on Tuesday, May 7. Again, several of the athletes set new personal records as they continue to peak this season.

Burke Bombers 4 - Winner/ Colome Pheasants 12 The Burke Bombers men’s amateur baseball team fell 12-4 to the Winner/Colome Pheasants on Tuesday, May 7, despite outhitting them 11 to six. Aaron Sundquist, Blake Boes, Jordan Vosika, and Cole Christopherson each collected two hits for the Bombers.

“This was a great meet,” Coach Kurt Stukel commented about the Meet of Legends in Burke on Tuesday, April 30. “We had some athletes step up their game and perform at levels they haven’t until this point in the season.” Daniel Mitchell was one of those athletes.

The Gorillas were faced with the highest level of competition they’ve seen all season at the Howard Wood Dakota Relays in Sioux Falls on Friday and Saturday, May 3-4. “We had some bright moments in relays, especially our girls and boys medley relays,” Coach Kurt Stukel commented.

Gregory High School senior Daniel Mitchell played in the South Dakota Basketball Coaches Association All-Star game at the Sanford Pentagon on Friday, April 19. Mitchell was part of the navy squad, which won the high-scoring game 114-110, scoring 17 points in the winning effort.

Daniel Mitchell was selected to the Class B Boys Second Team All-State. He was an All State selection for four straight years during his career at Gregory High School and finished his career owning ten school records.
