Long Pine Holds Community Clean-Up for National Wildfire Preparedness Day

In recognition of National Wildfire Preparedness Day and Long Pine’s second year of being a Firewise community, the city hosted a clean-up day on May 5th.

Every Firewise community has certain things they are required to do, one of which is holding a cleanup day. Long Pine residents could call and be put on a list to have volunteers come pick up any yard debris they may have, mostly tree branches and shrub material.

The community had planned to have a chipper available; however, due extenuating circumstances, it was unavailable. Instead participants used trailers donated and pulled by Long Pine Rural Fire Department Chief Matt Pozehl and another fire department member for the clean-up day.
