Local residents keep flag flying high
Friday, June 14, is Flag Day. It commemorates the adoption of the flag of the United States on June 14, 1777, by resolution of the Second Continental Congress.
In 1946, President Woodrow Wilson proclaimed June 14 as Flag Day, although it is not an official federal holiday. It does, however, provide the perfect opportunity to recognize a group of volunteers in the Gregory community who are dedicated to keeping our country’s flag flying over the town.
