Seven Bulldogs Qualify for 2018 State Track Meet; Boys and Girls Teams Finish 3rd at Districts
Despite tough competition at Class C-5 Districts, the Ainsworth Track Team will be well-represented at the 2018 State Track Meet.
Seven Bulldogs will compete in 13 events May 18th and 19th at Burke High School in Omaha. Individual state qualifiers for Ainsworth are: Payton Allen - 110 Meter Hurdles and 300 Meter Hurdles; Ben Arens - 1600 Meter Run and 3200 Meter Run; Jacob Sinsel - 3200 Meter Run; Megan Appelt - 300 Meter Hurdles; CeeAnna Beel - 1600 Meter Run; Erin Painter - Shot Put and Discus; and Rylee Rice - 100 Meter Hurdles, 300 Meter Hurdles, 800 Meter Run and 1600 Meter Run.
Allen won the 110 Meter Hurdles and took 2nd in the 300 Meter Hurdles to qualify for state track in both events. Arens won and qualified for state in both the 1600 Meter Run and the 3200 Meter Run. He came in just ahead of Sinsel in the 3200 Meter Run, who was the 2nd place finisher and also qualified for state.
