William Bearshield, seated, is surrounded by several chiefs and tribal leaders. His niece, Lisa White Pipe, is shown to the right of him. After receiving his headdress, Bearshield was presented a star quilt. Once the ceremony was complete, Bearshield, followed by the color guard, led the dancers into the arena for the grand entry. During the ceremony, Chief Bearshield is seen carrying a second headdress. This is a headdress that belonged to one of his ancestors. The dancers wore beautiful, brightly colored costumes.
