This year, 2024, marks 10 years of raising awareness and celebrating “National Apprenticeship Week.” Apprenticeships are an effective approach for South Dakotans to gain on-the-job training plus classroom instruction to earn a nationally recognized credential while continuing to earn a living for their family. In the last two years, we have taken apprenticeships to a whole new level in our state.

BROOKINGS, S.D. – South Dakota State University Extension 4-H members donated nearly 900 hygiene care kits for people in need during the 2023-2024 statewide community service project.

For me as a kid, and likely for many of you as well, A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving was a must-see every year when the holiday rolled around. It originally aired on CBS in 1973, and throughout the following years was shown several times leading up to and on Thanksgiving Day.

The South Dakota Department of Education’s division of Child and Adult Nutrition Services is seeking sponsors for a federally funded program that provides nutritious meals and snacks to children in low-income areas during the summer months.

Ernie Haase and Signature Sound will perform to a sold out audience at Prairie View Gospel Barn on Sunday, November 24, 2024. The group has hit the perfect note with their show “A Jazzy Little Christmas,” performing songs from their 2019 holiday collection of the same name, an album that landed in the Top 10 on Billboard’s Jazz Albums chart and was named among the “Best Christmas albums of 2019” by the Los Angeles Times.

Gregory County FFA participated in the District 4 Leadership Development Events contest on Monday, November 18, 2024 in Mitchell, SD. Twenty-seven kids participated in the event.
