Another 365 days have passed, and a lot happened in Gregory during that time. Here’s a look at some of the events.

District 21 legislators look ahead to 2024 session

I hope you all had a Merry Christmas! Soon, I will be headed back to the halls of the State Capitol to represent you in the upcoming 99th legislative session. In 40 legislative days, we will vote on hundreds of bills in committee and on the Senate and House floor. I am again entrusted by senate leadership to chair Health and Human Services. I will also again sit on the State Affairs and Agriculture and Natural Resources Committee.

2024 applications open for Billie Sutton Leadership Institute

Applications for the Billie Sutton Leadership Institute’s 2024 Sutton Leaders and Rural POWER programs officially opened January 1, 2024. Billie Sutton, former state senator and 2018 candidate for governor of South Dakota, launched the non-partisan, non-profit Leadership Institute dedicated to preparing tomorrow’s leaders to boldly serve our state, communities, workplaces, and each other with compassion and courage.

Governor Kristi Noem launched the “Nurses, STAT!” ad as part of the Freedom Works Here nationwide workforce recruitment campaign. The ad features Governor Noem as a nurse to recruit more healthcare workers to South Dakota.
