Five Gregory students participated in the All-State Chorus and Orchestra over the weekend. Eli Barreto (top photo, 2nd from the left) was named first chair tuba for the second year in a row. On Monday, Governor Kristi Noem led eight of her fellow Republican governors in urging the NCAA to rewrite its Transgender Student Athlete Policy. Governor Noem and her colleagues communicated this in a letter to the NCAA Committee on Competitive Safeguards and Medical Aspects of Sports.

Chris Velder and Conor Selby of O’Neill, NE, delivered a truckload of potatoes to the Feeding South Dakota truck while it was in town Friday, October 20. They had gleaned the potatoes after the potato harvest in O’Neill and Page, NE, farms, and had at least twice this amount yet to drop off. Marcy Creekmur stated that anyone is welcome to donate food or money to Feeding South Dakota. Call the office in Pierre at 605-224-1158 for more information.

First Fidelity Bank, headquartered in Burke, has officially acquired Dakota Prairie Bank. First Fidelity President and CEO David Nelson says the transition will take place through February 2024.
