SD DOH expands Rural Healthcare Facility Recruitment Assistance Program to include dental hygienist

The South Dakota Department of Health is pleased to announce the expansion of the Rural Healthcare Facility Recruitment Assistance Program (RHFRAP) to now include Dental Hygienists as eligible participants. In addition, dental offices will be added as eligible facilities under this program. The decision to include dental hygienists and dental offices is aimed at addressing the growing need for oral health services in rural communities across the state.

The Dixon Townhall has gone through a major upgrade. This was a much needed upgrade on the outside of the building, replacing windows and siding, and adding insulation.

Natalie Smith is new Chamber intern

Natalie Smith has accepted the position of intern for the Gregory/ Dallas Chamber of Commerce. Natalie is the daughter of Jeremy and April Smith.

Gregory County Historical Society to hold steak night fundraiser

The historical building that houses the Gregory County Historical Society’s (GCHS) museum is in need of some TLC, and the organization is planning a steak dinner to help raise funds to pay for it.

The museum, formerly the St. Augustine Catholic Church, located in Dallas, is on the National Historic Register. Construction on the church began in 1924, while Fr. Walter T. Kearney served. John Hayes, who built a number of other buildings and homes in Dallas, was in charge of construction.
