Winner Regional Health hires new CEO

The Winner Regional Health Board of Directors has announced that Brian Williams, RHCEOC, has been named the new chief executive officer, beginning June 20, 2023. Williams will oversee the strategic and operational initiatives for the organization.

The Wolf Parable

I learned in church that a parable is a story with intent – and there’s one parable reportedly told in Native American culture about the essence of two competing wolves residing in every emotional being. One is good and compassionate; the other greedy and spiteful. A question from a child arises in the story as to which of the two wolves wins the competition to control the person’s attitudes and actions. And the answer from the elder is, “It’s the one you feed.”

Rain!

Rain … we finally got some! On June 3, we got between 30 and 40 hundredths of an inch of rain. June 10 we received about an 1.6 inches of rain. This rain we received helped replace the ground with moisture, allowing for the crops to flourish.

Governor Noem to testify on Capitol Hill

Governor Noem will testify before the United States House of Representatives Committee on Natural Resources on Thursday, June 15, in favor of HR 3397. This bill would require the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) to abandon the proposed rule on “Conservation and Landscape Health.”
