Gregory County Commissioners questioned on election security

The Gregory County Board of Commissioners held their regular meeting at 9:00 a.m., Tuesday, March 21, 2023, at the Gregory County Courthouse. Board considers use of slipliners Todd Steffen of Dakota Prairie Landscapes, LLC, was present to explain the process of using slipliners with a cellular concrete slurry to repair metal pipes, in conformance with DOT specifications.

11th Annual Scavenger Journey continues to grow

The 11th Annual Scavengers Journey has been scheduled for June 23-25, 2023. When it first started years ago, there were only four towns which participated in this annual event: Chamberlain, Oacoma, Pukwana, and Kimball. It is a non-profit organization that began in 2012.

Girls State candidates selected

Three Gregory High School girls have been selected to participate in this year’s Girls State; Mya Determan and Cindy Khuu will be sponsored by the Gregory Legion Auxiliary, and the Dallas Legion Auxiliary will sponsor Natalie Smith.

Gregory school year extended to May 19 but might go even longer

Middle school math teacher Lenna Braun delivered the Gorilla Good News as the regular meeting of the Gregory School District Board of Education was called to order at 5:30 p.m., Tuesday, March 14, 2023. Using real-world applications in medicine, pies, and sports statistics, she provided practical uses for math skills such as finding circumference, diameter, radius, ratios, mean, median, mode, and probability.
