Calving goes high tech

The snow’s blowing sideways, the heavy stuff. It’s one of the few winter storms this year and it happens to fall on the first days of March, calving season.

Emotions and Faith

In many cultural pockets of different communities or families, expressions of deep or difficult emotions, like grief, fear, anger, or vulnerability have often been perceived as negative, perhaps been misunderstood or even discouraged. While the intent may have been to promote strength, peace, or resilience, this emotional restraint can sometimes lead to disconnection, pain, and a hesitation or reluctance to be our full selves with others.

Miller named Beck’s Player with Heart

FFA member and Chapter President Aubree Miller was selected as a Beck’s Player with Heart, making her eligible for a $1000 scholarship. As a Beck’s Player with Heart, Aubree Miller shows her dedication and passion both on and off the court and track.

What do you do with a problem?

In the beautifully illustrated and written children’s book “What do you do with a problem” by Kobi Yamada, a child discovers a problem following them everywhere they go. The more the child tries to avoid it, the bigger the problem grows- casting a shadow and filling up the pages with an ominous darkness. Most of us can relate in one way or another, how struggles can feel like a giant cloud, dark and looming, expanding to several different areas of our lives.

First plow days event draws enthusiastic lineup

Boys and dirt go together like apple pie and ice cream, Batman and Robin, or cheese and crackers. So it was no surprise that the first, and hopefully annual, garden tractor plow day and pull drew as many participants as it did on Sunday afternoon, October 26, 2025, just east of town.

The University of South Dakota athletic department is proud to announce the 2025 Henry Heider Coyote Sports Hall of Fame class. This year’s class features eight new inductees into the USD Hall of Fame, including seven athletes and one special contributor.
