S.D. Public Broadcasting remains committed to SDHSAA state events

PIERRE — Despite national attempts to defund public television, South Dakota Public Broadcasting remains committed to covering state athletic and fine arts events. On Wednesday, June 17, the board of directors of the South Dakota High School Activities Association learned about that commitment during the annual report from representatives of South Dakota Public Broadcasting.

Gregory 8U claims league tournament championship

The Gregory 8U softball team captured the league tournament championship on Saturday, capping off an impressive season. Gregory opened the tournament with a 13-4 victory over Clearfield before defeating Winner Gold 11-5 in the semifinals. In a thrilling championship game, Gregory edged Lyman 8-7 to claim the title, avenging its only regular-season loss. Gregory entered the tournament with a 10-1 league record, with the lone defeat coming against Lyman.

FFA attends land and range days

Gregory County FFA attended land and range days in Belle Fourche Monday, June 8 and Tuesday, June 9, 2026. School is out but the learning still continues! Students had the opportunity to practice plant identification, ecological sites, and worked with NRCS staff.
