Bombers defeated by Owls on Sunday

The Burke Bombers fell to the Wessington Springs Owls, 4-2, at home on Sunday, June 14, 2026. The Owls got on the board in the top of the first inning after the Bombers committed an error, and Blaze Herdman grounded into a fielder’s choice, each scoring one run.

Two Gregory golfers make their State debut

The 2026 State Golf Tournament was held June 1–2 in Brookings, with golfers enjoying excellent weather conditions throughout the event. Eighth grader Gracie Biggins competed at Edgebrook Golf Course, shooting a 110 on the first day and a 111 on the second day for a two-day total of 221.

Gregory Teeners come up short in Baltic tournament over the weekend

The Gregory Teeners played in a tournament in Baltic over the weekend, June 5-7, 2026. To keep everything on schedule, games were limited to five innings. Pitchers were allowed a maximum of 25 pitches, and when they hit that number, the inning ended, and whoever was on base scored. And if a coach called a timeout to talk to a pitcher, the team at bat scored a run.

Bombers win at home, lose on the road

Burke Bombers 5 – Four Corners 4 Brogan Glover was dominant on the bump as the starting pitcher rang up 15 strikeouts in the Bombers’ 5-4 victory over Four Corners at home on Thursday, June 4, 2026. Glover also surrendered nine hits and four runs over seven innings while walking five.

Ribfest draws 300 with award-winning smoked meats

Saturday, June 6, brought sun, wind, and three hundred people to the 10th Annual Ribfest sponsored by the Gregory/Dallas Chamber in the Gregory City Park. Festivities kicked off the night before when the six teams participating began setting up their smokers and prepping brisket, pork butt, baby back pork ribs, and chicken to cook. The Chamber purchased the meat from Chamber business, Gregory County Locker.
