On April 29, 2026, the aviation class at GHS got a chance to take to the skies and experience firsthand the lessons that they have been learning about all year. The six students are the first class to enroll in the CTE aviation program. In the Introduction to Flight Course, students began with an exploration of the types of aircraft in use today before going on to learn how aircraft are made and how they fly. Students then learned how aircraft are categorized, and were able to identify their parts, and learn about aircraft construction techniques and materials. They gained an in-depth understanding of the forces of flight—lift, weight, thrust, and drag—including how to make key calculations. They concluded by touching on aircraft design, looking at stability, aircraft controls, and maneuvering flight.

Gregory Co. JV’s effort to come back from down by six runs in the second inning came up just short, as they fell 8-6 to Winner/Colome JV Royals on Thursday, May 7. Gregory Co. closed the gap by scoring on three singles and a fly out.

The Gregory varsity boys golf team traveled to Burke Golf Course on Friday, May 8, to compete in the Burke Invitational against a competitive field. Leading the way for the Gorillas was Jacob Klein, who carded an 84 to earn an 8th-place finish individually.
