Carol Jeannette Jensen was born on January 7, 1939, to Anton and Rose (Cotton) Jensen in Wagner, SD.

She grew up on the family ranch near Scalp Creek with her six siblings. She graduated high school in Bonesteel in 1957.

In 1959, Carol married Gary Vogt. To this union three children were born: Tony Vogt (Sue), John Vogt, and Linda (Vogt) Sieh (Willie). Carol married Melvin “Zuke” Schroeder in 1980 and gained a step-son, Jerry Schroeder.

Carol was a pillar of strength for her family, offering guidance, support, and unconditional love through every triumph and tribulation. Her wisdom, wit, and gentle spirit enriched the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Carol's legacy will forever be etched in the hearts of her children and grandchildren. She leaves memories of summer fun, unique children’s toys, fig newtons, and mandarin orange jello. The importance of family was evident in her consistency with birthday cards and closely following the life events of her children and grandchildren. With the soundtrack of Magic 93.7 and her chiming clock, her house was always a special gathering place for family fun and love.

Carol put her strong faith at the forefront of everything she did. She lived simply, valuing her relationship with God and those she loved over earthly belongings.

In honoring Carol's memory, we celebrate the beauty of her life and the profound impact she made on the world around her. Though she may have left this earthly realm, her spirit will forever remain a beacon of love, lighting our way through the darkest of times.
