A funeral service for Clyde Vogt was held at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, July 24, 2025, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Naper, NE, with Reverend Philip Henning officiating. Lisa Reiman, organist, provided the music. Casket bearers were Cody Vogt, Cole Vogt, Carl Vogt, Clayton Schoenefeld, Doug Schulz, and Elliot Vogt. Interment was at St. Paul’s Lutheran Cemetery in Naper, NE. Clausen Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. Clyde Philip Vogt was born to Carl and Margaret (Carlsen) Vogt on September 21, 1947, in Gregory, SD.
Clyde graduated from Naper High School in 1965. After working in Mitchell, he joined the Army in 1967. Following training, he spent 14 months guarding the DMZ in Korea until April 1969. Upon return, he became a member of the Naper VFW.
He was united in marriage to Jane (Frasch) Vogt on October 25, 1969. In 1971, they moved from Omaha to the homestead farm northeast of Naper. Their sons, Gale and Brad, were born in 1974 and 1976.
Clyde was baptized and confirmed at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Naper where he served on the church council for many years.
Along with farming and cattle, Clyde liked working in his shop, doing mechanic work and drinking coffee with friends. He especially enjoyed building and racing stock cars and watching his sons race. He was also a very accomplished coyote hunter. He loved having grandkids, family, and friends visit at the farm. He always had a dog as a sidekick on the farm.
Clyde Philip Vogt passed away on July 19, 2025, at Edgewood Memory Care in Norfolk, NE, at the age of 77.
He is survived by his wife Jane; sons Gale (Becky) and daughter Meghan; Brad (Stacy) and children Cole, Katie, Carl, and Kallie; brother Wayne (Dianne) Vogt of Pueblo, CO; sister Ella (Paul) Schulz of Safford, AZ; sisters-in-law Beverly (Louis) Kehn of St. Charles, Bobbie Frasch of Windsor, CO, and JoAnn Frasch of Fairfax; brothers-in-law Eugene (Roberta) Frasch of Spokane, WA, and Don Cahoy of Norfolk, NE; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, sisters-in-law Elaine (Fred) Brown and Sandy Cahoy; brothers-in-law Dennis Frasch, Marvin Frasch, and Dwayne Frasch.
