Funeral services for Diane Rolf were held on Tuesday, April 2, 2024, at 1:00 p.m. at the Clausen Funeral Home in Burke, SD, with Pastor Russ Grim officiating. Taylar Pasch and Nevaeh Cressy were in charge of registration. Casket bearers were Jason Lutt, Chuck Kaupp, Brock Kaupp, Gene Brumbaugh, Kevin Will, and Jaymes Kaupp. Interment was in the IOOF Cemetery in Gregory, SD. Clausen Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. Diane Marie Rolf was born July 19, 1956, in Gregory, SD, to Oswald and Ellen (Gomke) Kaupp. Diane was baptized at the Union Congregational Church in Gregory, SD, as an infant. Diane attended Gregory Public School and graduated from Gregory High School in 1974. On October 13, 1979, Diane married Herman (“Butch”) Rolf Jr. at the United Congregational Church in Gregory, SD. To this marriage three children were born: Darla, Darwin and Darcy. Butch and Diane resided and farmed south of Herrick, SD, many years before moving to Gregory in 1996.
Diane worked at a few different places including Pizza Hut, Gregory Nursing Home and a hat factory. Diane always had a passion for sewing. For several years she would assemble quilts until her health would not allow her to. She also enjoyed doing puzzles, playing bingo, playing rummy and hanging out with the grandkids.
Diane passed away on March 24, 2024 at her home in Gregory, SD, at the age of 67 years.
Diane is survived by her husband Herman “Butch” Rolf of Gregory, SD; daughter Darla Pasch of Sioux Falls, SD; two sons: Darwin (Carrie) Rolf of Winner, SD, and Darcy Rolf of Gregory, SD; grandchildren: Taylar Pasch, Nevaeh Cressy, Jebadiah Rolf, Jozlynn Rolf, Ruger Rolf, Remington Rolf and Brylee Rolf; siblings: Sandy Jones of Gregory, SD; David (Rita) Kaupp of Gregory, SD; Rachel (Fred) Keune of Gregory, SD; Billy Kaupp of Gregory, SD; Linda Kaupp of Gregory, SD; Christine (Marlyn) Campbell of Burke, SD; Charlotte (Gary) Engelmeyer of Burke, SD; Marsha Kaupp of Mitchell, SD, and Lori Kaupp of Gregory, SD; many nieces, nephews and several great-nieces and great-nephews.
Diane is preceded in death by her parents Oswald and Ellen; her brothers Curtis, Johnny, and Michael (Micky); and mother-in-law Mildred.
