Kevin Jons

A memorial service for Kevin Jons was held on Friday, September 13, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. at the Bonesteel City Hall in Bonesteel, SD with Pastor Russ Grim officiating. Inurnment was in the Rosebud Cemetery in Bonesteel, SD. Clausen Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. Urn bearers were Kelly Jons, Kerry Jons, Kent Jons, Kory Jons, Kiley Jons, and Kasey Jons. Honorary urn bearers were all of his family and friends. Kevin Lee Jons, age 64, was born on April 13, 1960 to Winnie Jo and Marvin Jons. He grew up participating in football and basketball. Kevin graduated from Bonesteel High School in 1979. He moved to Sioux Falls and devoted 33 years of work to Nash Finch. He enjoyed interacting with his nieces and nephews at every given chance. Kevin also had a love for dogs. Kevin enjoyed fishing and hunting alongside his friends and family.

He passed away on September 9, 2024 in Sioux Falls, SD. He is survived by his brother Kelly (Shelly) Jons of Bonesteel, SD, brother Kerry Jons of Bonesteel, SD, brother Kent Jons of Nashville TN, sister Kristi (Dale) Deffenbaugh of Lincoln NE, sister Kara (JP) Kirwan of Bonesteel, SD, sister Kathy (Trevor) Johnson of Harrisburg, SD, brother Kory (Michelle) Jons of Sioux Falls, SD, brother Kiley (Kassi) Jons of Bozeman MT, and brother Kasey (Ember Dale) Jons of Parkston, SD; 19 nieces and nephews; and 14 great-nieces and nephews.

Kevin was preceded in death by his parents Winnie Jo Jons and Marvin Jons; his niece Danika Jons; grandparents Maxine and Orvold Bentson, and Ida and Harold Jons.
