A memorial service for Mary L. Noelle of Burke, SD, was held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, August 1, 2025, at Grace Lutheran Church in Burke, SD, with Pastor Philip Henning officiating.
Randy Sachtjen, accompanist, provided the music.
Interment was at Graceland Cemetery. Clausen Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. Mary L. Noelle was born on April 9, 1939. Her life, as colorful as the fabrics she so skillfully stitched, is a kaleidoscope woven with moments of joy, creativity, and humor.
Mary’s gentle hands crocheted doilies that were more than just yarn and thread; they were tiny ambassadors of her playful spirit. Whether knitting a scarf to warm a chilly day or sewing a garment with the precision of a master tailor, Mary transformed simple materials into works of art. Her hobbies weren’t just pastimes; they were vibrant expressions of her joy, each loop and stitch a testament to a life well-lived.
Mary was an active member of Grace Lutheran Church. Beyond her spiritual contributions, she brought her energy to the Ladies Aid and Hospital Auxiliary, charming everyone with her helpfulness and her knack for infusing every task with humor and heartfelt care.
Mary L. Noelle, 86, passed away on June 23, 2025, in the Lake Andes Nursing Home.
Mary leaves behind two daughters and their husbands, one brother and his wife, four grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, two greatgreat-grandchildren, and a number of nieces and nephews.
Mary is preceded in death by her husband, son, daughter, parents, two brothers, a sister, and four sisters-in-law.
