Interment was at the Czech National Cemetery, Gregory, SD, with military honors conferred by the Gregory American Legion and the National Honors Team. Kotrba-Smith Funeral Home handled the arrangements. Stanley Sedlmajer was born on December 6, 1924, to Joseph and Rose (Zemina) Sedlmajer in Tabor, SD. As a young boy he moved with his family to a farm south of Mission, SD. Stanley served his country in the Army, entering into the service at Rapid City, SD, on October 22, 1948, and served until December 28, 1949, when he received an honorable discharge at Ft. Lewis, WA.

Stanley worked many different jobs in the Mission area including the family gas station in town. Stanley started ranching with his twin brother George when his brother Joe moved to town in 1961.

Stanley loved the ranch but he also loved a good flea market. He spent many years traveling south in the fall in his big motor home to Arizona where he would go to flea markets. You could watch for the crows in the spring to know when he would head back to the ranch. When the crows returned in the spring so did Stanley. He would be loaded up with all his flea market treasures.

Stanley took over the operation of the ranch when George passed away. He pastured cows for his neighbors and lived on the ranch until his passing at the Cherry County Hospital on July 18, 2025, at the age of 100 Years, 7 months, and 12 Days.

He is survived and remembered by his nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephew, and great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews.

Stanley is preceded in death by his parents, his brothers Joe and George, and his sisters Rosie Frank, Helen Brozik, and Marie Cerveny.
