Teeners get big win in season opener

Gregory Teeners 15 Stanley County Post 20 0 The Gregory Teeners (17U) scored eight runs in the first inning, which helped them defeat Stanley County 15-0 on Tuesday, June 3, 2025, at home. Colt Keiser scored on a passed ball, Lincoln Juracek was struck by a pitch, allowing one run, and Carter Baumgartner, Eli Ekroth, and Colt Keiser all singled, each bringing in two runs.

Boys track team brings home a third place plaque from state meet

The Gregory Gorilla track and field team competed at the 2025 State Track Meet at Howard Wood Field in Sioux Falls, SD, Thursday-Saturday, May 29-31, 2025. Both the girls and the boys had some amazing individual, relay, and team accomplishments.

Burke Bombers start 2025 season with two wins

The Burke Bombers won a big 10-0 victory over the Winner Demons in their first game of the season on Thursday, May 29, 2025, at Winner. The Bombers got on the board in the top of the first inning after Gannon Thomas grounded into a fielder’s choice, the Demons committed an error, and Hunter Van Niewenhuyse singled down the right field line, each scoring one run.

Youth football camp hosted in Gregory

The Gregory varsity football team hosted the 21st youth football camp at Mike Dacy field last week. Seventy-five campers ages six to twelve attended the event to learn more about the great game of football. Gregory football players and coaches were instructors for the camp and opened each session with football fundamentals, drills, and skills. Campers were sent to different stations around the field to practice running, tackling, passing, catching, and blocking, utilizing cones, bags, and pads. After a much needed popsicle break all campers were split into teams for flag football games. All campers received a camp tee shirt and some grass stains free of charge.

Tracksters compete well in Winner despite heat and wind

The Gorillas traveled to Winner on May 13, 2025, to compete in the SESD conference track meet. The conditions weren’t ideal with the temperatures in the low 90s with strong winds out of the south. “We told our athletes that this was a great opportunity to compete in this type of environment, as we need to be ready to compete in any weather conditions at the high stake track meets,” said Stukel.

Gregory County JV stymied by Winner/Colome

The Gregory County JV team couldn’t keep up with the Winner/ Colome Royals and fell 14-4 on Wednesday, May 7, 2025. The Royals got on the board in the bottom of the first inning after scoring on a couple wild pitches.
