Gregory girls took first place in a 3 on 3 basketball tournament in Canistota on Saturday, April 5th, 2025. It was the first time any of them had competed in a 3 on 3 basketball tournament but they played like seasoned professionals. There were 51 teams playing in the tournament and six in their division.

The Gregory Athletics Club hosted the 32nd Annual East-West Shootout on Monday, March 24, 2025, at Gregory Memorial Auditorium. The event features area high school seniors getting together to play a fun and eventful game with their peers from opposing towns. The games consist of two halves, 18 minutes each.

State AAU wrestling took place at The Monument in Rapid City, March 28-30, 2025. Gregory had 21 youth wrestlers participating to make a name for themselves on the awards stand. Friday afternoon 16u-19u had 3 competitors from Gregory wrestling freestyle. Both Ekroth boys were on the awards stand, with Elijah on top of the podium.

The 2025 Legacy Family of the Year was awarded to the Bertram family of the Colome, SD area during half time at the BHSU men’s basketball game March 1, 2025. It was also senior recognition. Our very own Kalla Bertram, currently a senior BHSU Women’s Basketball player, wowed the crowd that day and was high point scorer as the BH women won the last game of the season.

The two-time defending Class B state boys track champions from Gregory opened their season with a number of quality performances at Tuesday’s Dan Lennon Invitational. Max Cook won the 400-Meter Dash (:54.32), Luke Barreto the 3,200-Meter run (10:34.18), Jhett Eklund the triple jump (40-7).

Jared Opp, band teacher for the Gregory School District, was named one of Northern State University’s Leaders of the Pack recently. In announcing their selection, NSU wrote that Opp considers his greatest achievement to be the ability to positively impact the communities he’s a part of.

Gregory 56 vs. Lyman 58 In the Class B SoDak 16 matchup, the Gregory Gorillas saw their impressive season come to a close with a narrow 58-56 defeat to the Lyman Raiders at Todd County High School on Tuesday.
