Middle school students can explore careers at Our Dakota Dreams summer camps

South Dakota’s rising 7th and 8th-grade students are invited to participate in the Our Dakota Dreams Career Exploration Camps. These free, five-day career exploration camps are in their fourth year, following the tremendous success of the previous three summers. The camps are a collaborative effort of the South Dakota Board of Regents, South Dakota Department of Education, and South Dakota Technical Colleges.

Lady Gorillas approach the end of regular season

The Lady Gorillas hosted Parkston February 7, 2025. Quarter scores show Gregory with 3, 9, 15 and 19, while Parkston posted stops of 16, 32, 41, and 53. Gregory shot a cool 18% from the field connecting on 7 of 37 with Parkston shooting 39%. Scoring for Gregory were Dani VanDerWerff with 12, Regan Graesser 6, and Ashlyn Vosika 1. Gregory pulled down 40 rebounds with Dani VanDerWerff providing 12, Allison Stevicks 8, Regan Graesser 12, Ashlyn Vosika 3, Sophie Skalla 2, Sadie Carlson 2, Gracie Biggins 1. Dani VanDer-Werff and Sadie Carlson both had 4 steals to lead Gregory. “Parkston is a top 3 team in the state. We struggled offensively shooting the ball. Defensively, we rebounded the ball well.

Gorillas increase record to 16-2

Gregory 51 Platte/Geddes 45 (OT) In a nail-biting overtime contest, the Gregory Gorillas emerged victorious with a 51-45 win over Platte/Geddes. The game was a rollercoaster of momentum swings, with both teams locked at 40-40 at the end of regulation before Gregory outscored the Black Panthers 11-5 in overtime to seal the win.

Wrestlers near end of regular season

The Burke/Gregory Storm girls got the weekend started on Friday, February 7, 2025, at the Yankton Girls Invitational, finishing 22nd in a field of 30 teams with three varsity and one jv wrestler. Daytona Paris went 4-2 at the tournament to finish in fourth place, scoring 19.5 team points.

Gregory traveled to Plankinton on February 4, 2025. The Gorillas posted quarter stops of 11, 18, 32, and 51, while MVP had stops 8, 17, 22, 33. Gregory had 5 players in the scoring column with Dani VanDerWerff with 27, Regan Graesser 10, Sadie Carlson 8, Ashlyn Vosika 5, and Gracie Biggins 1. Dani VanDerWerff and Allison Stevicks both pulled down 7 rebounds each for Gregory to lead the Gorillas. Ashlyn Vosika had 3 assists for Gregory. Ashlyn Vosika, Dani VanDerWerff and Regan Graesser all had 2 steals for the Gorillas.

Boys add 3 to the win column

Gregory 53 Winner 39 The Gregory Gorillas edged out the Winner Warriors on Monday by a score of 53-39. Gregory set the tone early, putting up 11 points in the opening quarter, leading the Warriors 11-10 after one quarter.

Boys extend winning streak by two

Gregory 72 Lyman 60 Gregory Gorillas secured a 72-60 victory over the Lyman Raiders last Tuesday night, January 28, in Presho, improving their season record to 8-2. The first quarter set the stage with the Gorillas holding a slim 11-10 lead.
