Wrestlers have 8 place finishers in Friday meets

Both the boys and girls Storm wrestling teams were on the road representing Gregory County on Friday, January 17, 2025. The Burke/Gregory Storm boys had six place finishers at the West Holt Tournament in Atkinson, NE, propelling them to fifth place in a field of 10 teams.

Storm wrestlers face tough competition over the weekend

The Burke/Gregory Storm coaching staff had to divide forces over the weekend as the boys and girls teams headed different directions on Saturday, January 11. The boys competed in the Bob Lager Invitational in Miller.

Gregory Gorillas defeat AC/DC

Gregory 74 AC/DC 45 The Gregory Gorillas delivered an impressive performance last Tuesday night, defeating Andes Central/Dakota Christian 74-45 at home. Gregory’s efficient shooting and balanced offensive attack proved too much for AC/DC, as the Gorillas improved to 4-2 on the season.

Lady Gorillas drop three tough losses in first week of 2025

The Gregory Lady Gorillas traveled to Madison to play Miller in the American Classic on Saturday, January 4. Gregory posted stops of 3, 8, 13, and 13, while Miller had stops of 19, 32, 46, and 60.

JV girls hit the basketball court

In their last game before the Christmas break, the Lady Gorillas JV team hosted Platte-Geddes on December 20. Gregory jumped out to a 7-5 first quarter lead, but a cold second and fourth quarter led to a Platte-Geddes 37-16 victory.

Gregory Gorillas fall to Viborg-Hurley

Gregory 25 Viborg-Hurley 48 The #4 Gregory Gorillas travelled to the World's Only Corn Palace on December 30 and fell to the #3 Viborg-Hurley Cougars 4825. Despite their best efforts, the Gorillas struggled to find their rhythm offensively, shooting just 24% from the field (9-38), while Viborg-Hurley capitalized on the shooting struggles to defeat the Gorillas.
