Gregory Co. Legion 18U survives Chamberlain Legion Post 3

Despite seeing their 9-run lead whittled down by the end, Gregory County Legion still held off for a 9-7 victory on Wednesday, June 5. Chamberlain closed the gap by scoring on a single, a double, three more singles, and a ground out.

Bombers never look back in win over Plankinton

The Burke Bombers won big over the Plankinton Bankers 14-4 on Sunday, June 9, in Burke. The Bombers were the first to get on the board in the first when Christian Schweigert grounded out, scoring one run.

Gregory Elementary holds Track and Field event

The Gregory Elementary held a Track and Field Day on May 8, 2024. The morning was packed with track and field events. After lunch, the students participated in some fun relay contests. Some of these relays included tug-of-war, 3-legged race, gunny sack race, balloon pop relay, cracker race, box race and the gallon of water race. It was a nice day with tons of fun.

Gregory Jr. Teeners 3 Platte-Geddes Jr. Teeners 13 The Platte-Geddes 14U Jr. Teeners scored 11 runs in the first inning on their way to defeat the Gregory Jr. Teeners 13-3 in the first game of a double header on Thursday, May 30, in Platte.

Bombers drop one to Winner

The Burke Bombers men’s amateur baseball team lost to the Winner Demons 5-2 on Thursday, May 30, in Winner. The Demons got on the board in the bottom of the first inning after Ashton Klein walked and the Bombers committed an error, each scoring one run.

Gregory boys claim repeat title at state track meet

Gregory fans have now learned not to leave the state track meet early as the boys team title again came down to the final race of the meet. Last year Luke Stukel had to catch one runner in the 4x400 to give the team a tie for first place. This year it was Luke again, who had one runner to pass for another tie for first and two to win the team title.

Two GHS golfers headed to state

The results of the region golf tournament, held Wednesday, May 22, in Mitchell, are in and two Gregory High School golfers are headed to state. Luke Stukel was the top performer for the team, carding an 82 for third place.
