Gregory’s cheer and dance team shines at Wagner

The Gregory High School cheer & dance team was in good form and full of spirit at the Wagner competition on Monday, September 18. The girls placed first in both pom and hip hop to win the dance portion of the event, and finished the cheer competition in second place.

Gregory cross country runners set personal best times in last two meets

Fin Adams was the top finisher for the boys varsity team at the Scotland Invitational cross country tournament on September 5. Coming in third, he completed the course in a time of 18:15.42. Pierce Stukel and Ryler Stevicks came in 13th and 14th in 20:13.19 and 20:31.25, respectively; Pierce’s time was a personal record. Jackson Bolander ran the course in 23:01.41 to finish 21st.

Cheer & dance team competes in Winner

The Gregory competitive cheer and dance team competed in the Winner Invitational Tournament on Saturday, September 9. In the dance portion of the program, the Gregory girls placed third with their hip hop routine, eliciting such comments from the judges as: “Really fun routine!” “Love the energy!” “Very fun to watch!” and “Very fun routine with high energy.” “We did pretty good,” Assistant Coach Jenny Hansen said, “but we had some mistakes.

Gorillas shut out Bennett County

The Gregory Gorillas football team put a mark in the win column with a shutout against Bennett County on Friday night. Landon Keiser put the first points on the board with a 19yard touchdown run.

Gorillas fall to Platte-Geddes

The Gorillas football team suffered a disappointing 14-42 loss against the 9AA Platte-Geddes Black Panthers. The Black Panthers got on the board first with a four-yard touchdown run and successful PAT.

Sutton’s meteoric rise continues

Wednesday night saw Billie Sutton’s improbable winning streak in pitch continue as Nick Reber and Sutton were able to pull off a major upset defeating Mike Croegaert and Charlie Johnson in the final game of the evening.

Cross country team has high expectations for 2023

The 2023 Gregory High School cross country boys team is strong on talent, despite losing Luke Sinclair to graduation. Returning are junior Fin Adams, who was a place finisher at state last year, sophomore Pierce Stukel, who ran at state last year, Ryler Stevicks, who qualified for state in 2022, and junior Jackson Bolander.
