Gregory Lady Gorillas move to 2-0 on young season

The Lady Gorillas hosted North Central on December 20, 2023, in Gregory. Gregory posted quarter stops of 14, 22, 34, and 41, while North Central had stops of 9, 24, 26, and 40. The Lady Gorillas shot 16/48 from the field for 33% and 5 of 11 from the foul line for 45%. North Central shot 11 of 43 from the field for 26% and 14 of 22 from the foul line for 64%.

Young team handles Avon in season opener

The Gregory girls basketball team hosted Avon to kick off the season on Tuesday, December 6. Quarter scores show Gregory with 9, 21, 40, and 56, while Avon had stops of 10, 18, 26, and 46.

Storm has three champions out of five place finishers at home tournament

Nine Burke/Gregory wrestlers competed at the Burke/Gregory Invitational on Saturday, December 10, and five placed. As a team, Burke/Gregory landed in the #5 spot in a field of 12 teams, with 105 points, behind Miller/Highmore-Harrold with 160, Bon Homme/Avon with 135.5, Redfield with 119, and Wessington Springs/Woonsocket/Wolsey- Wessington with 117.

Gregory 7th grade girls basketball team places 1st in the Colome tournament

Gregory started the tournament in pool play facing Winner in the first game. The girls came out ready to play and defeated Winner 37-13. In the second game of pool play, we faced a tough St. Francis team. Gregory came out on top of a free throw battle with a score of 26-16. Staying undefeated through pool play led us to the championship game against Colome at the end of a long day of basketball. This was the third time Gregory had faced Colome during the season. Both teams played a tough game, but the Gorillas came out on top 14-4.

Six named to All-State football team

The Gregory Gorillas 2022 state champion football team had six players named to the SD Football Coaches Association’s All-State team, the most players from any one team in class 9,A and possibly the most Gregory has had named to the team in a single year.
