No contact means no personal contact, no telephone calls, no electronic communication, including texting, emails or posting on social networks, and no third party contact; not enter any bars for 360 days; that being any business establishment that sells alcoholic beverages as its primary business.

Rep. Jim Halverson stresses the need for more foster families

Last Tuesday night, I went to the Tripp County Library to sit in on a public invitation to the community to learn about foster parenting, sponsored by South Dakota Kids Belong. There is an enormous shortage of foster parents in South Dakota. There are currently about 1700 kids in foster care in South Dakota, with a net loss of 93 families fostering in recent years. The need for families is increasing while the number of foster families is decreasing.

Gov. Rhoden announces $7.8 million in opioid settlement funding

PIERRE, S.D. –On April 2, 2026, Governor Larry Rhoden announced that the state of South Dakota is awarding more than $7.8 million in opioid settlement transformative grants to support identified gaps in community resources. This announcement was made at a press conference in Sioux Falls.

Gregory High NHS scholarship blood drive results

Congratulations to the Gregory High National Honor Society - they have achieved the $1500 scholarship level through their blood drive efforts for the 2025-2026 School Year by collecting 125 units which will impact up to 375 patient lives.
