SDHSAA collects data on economic impact of state events

The South Dakota High School Activities Association has begun to collect data from state tournaments to gauge the economic impact of those events. According to SDHSAA Executive Director Dan Swartos, the study will help the association engage with local chambers of commerce in an effort show the economic worth of the state events and perhaps find a way to get local businesses to lower costs for hotel rooms and food.

Class of 2026 donates trophy case to Gregory High School

Remembering Alfred Hutchison

In bygone days, Veterans Day was celebrated in Gregory with a parade, a meal at the Legion, and a dance. Many years, the veterans of specific wars would congregate to swap war stories and recall shared memories. In the beginning, those stories often involved a particular soldier from Gregory—PFC Alfred Hutchison—as the men gathered in the building of the Post named in his honor.
