Four years of high school music culminates with trip to Music City

Fifteen Gregory High School seniors who have been in band and/ or choir for the last four years embarked on a trip to Nashville on April 12. After a day of driving and flying, they ended the first evening with dinner at Raising Canes.

Bid accepted for Phase I of infrastructure project

The Gregory City Council met with engineers from SPN during the regular meeting on Monday, April 15, 2024, to discuss the bids received for Phase I of the infrastructure project The city received three bids for Phase I of the infrastructure project. The engineers from SPN were at the meeting to discuss the plan moving forward.

Engineering students earn spot in world competition

Murray is the teacher for the engineering trailer that has been part of the Career and Technical Education (CTE) program for the past ten years.

Eleven FFA members move on to state competition

The Gregory County FFA Chapter attended the Scotland Career Development Event (CDE) on Thursday, April 4. This contest helped determine the qualifiers for State Convention. To qualify, teams had to place in the top four from their own district (other districts also participated). They could also place individually if they placed in the top ten but weren’t part of a top four team.

Commentary by Bill Bullard, CEO, R-CALF USA One of the regulatory fights in Washington, D.C., right now is whether independent ranchers will be afforded the protections granted them over 100 years ago when Congress passed the Packers and Stockyards Act of 1921. It should surprise no one that the multinational meatpackers are lined up on one side of the fight – as they are who will be regulated by the Act – and organizations like R-CALF USA on the other – organizations that represent the independent cattle and sheep producers who are to be protected by the Act.
