For the first time, Golden West Telecommunications Cooperative members may vote in the 2024 Board of Directors election online or by mail through Sept. 24. Members who do not vote in advance have the option to cast a ballot in person at the cooperative’s 72nd annual meeting to be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 28, at the Community Center in Wall.

INDIANAPOLIS – The Gregory County FFA chapter of Burke and Gregory SD, has been recognized in the 2024 National Chapter Award Program from the National FFA Organization. The program recognizes outstanding FFA chapters from throughout the country that actively implement the mission and strategies of the organization.

The boys cross country team returns everyone from last season, which placed 5th at the state meet. The boys will look to improve upon that 5th place finish at state and set their goals for a top three finish this year.

The Gorilla cross country teams will kick off the 2024 season Friday, August 30, at Winner. Running will start at 10:00 with JV/MS girls, followed by JV/MS boys, varsity girls, and varsity boys.

After years of waiting for just the right person, Gregory and Tripp counties have a 4-H educator, in the form of Chelsea Hutchison. The newly-married Hutchison (July 20) lives on a ranch near Presho.

Mayor Al Cerny asked the council members to list various items they would like to see included in the 2025 budget at the regular meeting of the Gregory City Council, held at 6:00 p.m. on Monday, August 19, 2024. Councilman Cory Graber wanted to ensure the city had adequate funding for tearing down condemned buildings.
