Gregory Co. Prairie Patriots host appreciation meal

On Saturday, April 29, 2023, the Gregory County Prairie Patriots hosted an appreciation meal for those who kept our roads open and, our power on during this rough winter. The hard-working men and women, along with their families, enjoyed a meal of smoked brisket, prime rib, baked potatoes, salads, and desserts - no one left hungry. Patriots’ member Alyssa Liewer came up with the idea and the group ran with it. The group reached out to area businesses and residents to ask for donations to help with the costs of hosting the event, and several answered this call. Local businesses and individuals also donated salads, desserts, and door prizes. Any leftover monetary donations were given as a free drink tickets and door prizes so that everything went back to these hard-working folks and their families.
