Elementary students shop ‘til they—or the volunteers—drop

In between rehearsals at the auditorium for the evening’s holiday concert on Monday, Gregory Elementary students took part in a tradition started many years ago—elementary Christmas shopping day. The students eagerly picked through the vast array of donated, thrifted, and purchased items to choose a gift for two recipients of their choice.

Online targeting is more pervasive than you might think

Children have long been in danger from predators. Those of us with grown children may remember teaching them about “stranger danger” and warning them about accepting candy from someone they don’t know or following someone who “has puppies in his car.”

Wreath-laying ceremony conducted as part of nation-wide program

On Saturday, December 13, 2025, Dale Reber, Gregory County Veterans Affairs Officer, representing Sons of the American Legion Squadron 6, conducted a wreathlaying ceremony at the grave of PFC Alfred Hutchison, after whom the Gregory American Legion Post is named.

SDSU Extension Pesticide Applicator (PAT) Training to be held Dec. 17

SDSU Extension will host a free Private Applicator Training (PAT) on December 17, 2025, from 1:304:30 p.m. CST (12:30-3:30 p.m. MT), with a focus on Managing Pests in Rangelands.
