Funeral services to be held for Ruth Gessner 

Funeral services for Ruth Gessner, age 92, of Mills, NE, will be held on Wednesday, December 3, 2025, at 10:30 a.m. at the Mills Community Church in Mills, NE. Burial will follow in the Olive Branch Cemetery, Mills, NE. There will be a prayer service on Tuesday, December 2, 2025, at 7 p.m. at the Mills Community Church. Kotrba-Smith Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. 

Keiser brothers get all-state recognition in football

Colt Keiser was named to the 9AA South Dakota All-State football team. Keiser tallied 53 tackles, six interceptions including two returned for touchdowns, and one fumble recovery this season. 

Colt’s brother Landon was an all-state honorable mention this year.

A season for slowing down

AG Jackley leads coalition to support Tribal Warrant Fairness Act

South Dakota Attorney General Marty Jackley is among four leaders of a 39-state Attorneys General coalition urging Congress to pass the Tribal Warrant Fairness Act, bipartisan legislation that would provide critical federal law enforcement support to tribal communities across the nation.
