oem Empowering families – prioritizing students You’ve heard me talk a lot over the years about helping foster families so that we can build stronger families across our state. In situations where parents aren’t able to take care of their kids, foster families step up to fill the void.

Dear Editor, Here are some of my thoughts concerning the Gregory County Pumped Storage meeting on January 25 in Burke, SD, sponsored by MidAmerica Energy and Missouri River Energy Services. East and West River communities were well represented at both meetings (afternoon and evening).

As soon as Jack Sully was shot near his home on the morning of May 16, 1904, a gathering began to assemble on Sully Flats. Earlier, Ben Diamond had ridden up to the ranch house and called for Jack. Jack was inside with his daughter, Eva, and two younger boys, George and John.
