Despite a 5-run deficit in the fourth inning, Gregory JV almost came all the way back, eventually falling 11-9 to the St. Mary Cavaliers JV at home on Sunday, May 4. Gregory County JV closed the gap by scoring on a single, a double, and an error.

The South Dakota High School Activities Association board of directors worked through 43 proposed changes to the organization’s Athletics Handbook at its April meeting on Wednesday, April 23. The changes were originally proposed by a meeting of the state’s high school athletics directors.

Gregory County varsity falls to Belle Fourche in low-scoring affair

Both teams were strong on the mound on Sunday, April 27, but Belle Fourche was just a little bit stronger at the plate in their 1-0 victory over Gregory County varsity. Hudson Fuhrer started the game for Gregory County and recorded 18 outs. Gregory County was right in it until Belle Fourche singled in the fifth inning.

Windy, cold, and damp conditions had a negative impact on golfers in Gregory and Burke on Friday, April 25, 2025, at the Burke/Gregory Golf Tournament. Luke Stukel toughed out the conditions to finish second with an 86 for the day, only six strokes behind Jye Bailey of Plattte-Geddes.

The Gregory middle school track team competed in the Corsica-Stickney meet on Thursday, April 17, 2025, in Corsica. David Biggins stole the show, placing first in the 100 meter dash, 200 meter dash, and 400 meter dash.

Golf season is underway

The Gregory High School varsity golf team headed to Fox Run in Yankton on Thursday, April 17, 2025. Weather conditions proved to be challenging with cooler temps and high winds. The two Gorilla golfers pushed through and shot well for the tough conditions and challenging course. Luke Stukel shot an 82 to place 14th, and Jhett Eklund finished the day with an 89.

Gregory County 1 Winner/Colome 13 The Gregory County baseball team couldn’t keep up with Winner/ Colome and fell 13-1 on Monday, April 14. Winner/Colome was first to get on the board in the first inning when Landon Calhoon grounded out, scoring one run.
