For the past 25 years, the South Dakota High School Baseball Association has been filling the void of high school baseball in the state. The result has been the continued growth of the sport with a record number of teams participating in the 2025 season and more teams expected for the 2026 season, according to Dane Yde, executive director of the SDHSBA, who added that in the 25 years since his organization was formed, close to 2,000 student athletes have participated in either a varsity, junior varsity or a freshman team.

Gregory Legion 5 Parkston Legion 7 Despite a 6-run deficit in the first inning of the first game of a double header at home, Gregory Legion Post 6 almost came all the way back, eventually falling 7-5 against Parkston Legion Post 194 on Friday, June 6, 2025. Parkston got on the board in the top of the first inning after Tate Klumb singled to left field, Kash Neugebauer was struck by a pitch, Maddux Brissette grounded out, Gregory committed an error, Sean Deckert singled to right field, and Burke Neubel walked, each scoring one run.

Gregory Teeners 15 Stanley County Post 20 0 The Gregory Teeners (17U) scored eight runs in the first inning, which helped them defeat Stanley County 15-0 on Tuesday, June 3, 2025, at home. Colt Keiser scored on a passed ball, Lincoln Juracek was struck by a pitch, allowing one run, and Carter Baumgartner, Eli Ekroth, and Colt Keiser all singled, each bringing in two runs.
