The SESD conference tournament was held in Wagner, on Saturday, October 23, 2021, and was full of tough teams. The Spikers were placed in the pool with Wagner and Mt.

October was Bullying Awareness Month and offered the opportunity to discuss this all-too-common issue, as well as to transform into a society that recognizes that bullying must be addressed through education and support.

The Gregory Gorillas lost their quarterfinal game in the playoffs to Wall in a 20-34 effort. Wall got off to an early lead, scoring the first 19 points of the game before Rylan Peck connected with Owen Hansen in the third quarter for a Gorilla touchdown.

Thursday night the Gorillas hosted a first round playoff game against their neighbors the South Central Cougars. Both teams finished the regular season 5-3, but power-point calculations ranked the Gorillas sixth and the Cougars 11 in class 9A. The teams met in week three of the regular season and the victory went to the Gorillas by a score of 34-6.

The Gorillas cross country team participated in the state “B” cross country meet on October 23, 2021, at the Yankton Trail Park in Sioux Falls. Gregory had five girls qualify for the state meet, after qualifying the team by claiming the region runner-up title.
