Girls cross country team claims Region 3B title, qualifies for state meet

The girls cross country team was crowned Region 3B champions last Wednesday at Burke. The Gorillas finished in first place with ten points, followed by Burke with 21 and Scotland 29 to round out the top three teams.

Gorillas down Cougars 46-6 in Homecoming victory

The Gregory Gorillas faced the Burke Cougars in the Homecoming football game Friday night, and the fans were not disappointed with the 46-6 win. The intra-county match-up is a perennial favorite for both teams, and Coach Mike Murray wanted to get as many guys on the field as he could and give the fans a fun game to watch.

On top of a week of Homecoming festivities, the Gregory Marching Gorillas were kept on the run with a week and a half of competitions. First, they traveled to Aberdeen in the early morning hours on Wednesday, September 27, for the Roncalli Marching Band Festival.

The Mike Dacy Annual Hog began as a simple pheasant hunting weekend among friends has grown into a meaningful annual fundraiser that continues to make a difference in the Gregory community. The tradition started in 2007, when Dave O’Neil suggested inviting a few friends back to Gregory for a weekend of pheasant hunting.

DANR Announces $48.9 Million in Loans and Grants for Statewide Projects

The South Dakota Department of Agriculture and Natural Resources (DANR) announced that the Board of Water and Natural Resources has approved $48.9 million in statewide projects. A total of $36,958,000 in state loans, including $425,000 in principal forgiveness, was authorized for drinking water and wastewater improvements.

If you've been around Gregory long you have probably noticed the Red Recycle Trailer sitting on the East side of City Hall. This trailer is hauled over to the Tripp County Recycle Center once a week by a group of volunteers with the goal of recycling material that would otherwise be going to the local land fill.
