Local guardsman completes 11-mile ruck for veteran suicide prevention

On Saturday, September 12, Guhner Kepler completed an 11-mile ruck to help draw attention and support to 22 No More, a suicide prevention program for veterans. As a member of the Nebraska National Guard, Kepler was required to participate in the ruck for their September drill.
Steel Magnolias coming to Dixon Town Hall Theatre

The Gregory Community Players will present Steel Magnolias September 25, 26 and 27 at the Dixon Town Hall Theatre in Gregory. The play takes place in Truvy’s Beauty Shop in a small Louisiana town and centers on six women whose friendships carry them through the everyday moments, celebrations and hardships of life.
Gorillas Fall to Beavers 45-6

The Gregory Gorillas traveled to Alexandria on Friday, September 18 to take on the Hanson Beavers. The Gorillas, coming off their win against the TDAACDC Thunder Hawks, battled a tough Hanson Beaver team, and suffered a 45-6 loss.
Spikers face tough competition, look ahead to senior night

The Lady Spikers had another busy week of volleyball with a trip to Parkston to face the Lady Trojans on Tuesday and welcoming the Stuart Broncos to town on Thursday. Tuesday, September 15 the Spikers played 3 matches in Parkston against the tough Lady Trojans during their homecoming week.

BILLINGS, Mont., Oct. 1, 2026 – A Washington Court of Appeals commissioner has ordered a stay in the administrative proceeding against Wade and Teresa King, of the King Ranch, while the court considers the ranchers’ appeal seeking the right to have their case heard by a jury.

The Gregory County FFA Range team placed second out of 12 teams in Kimball on Wednesday, September 30. Charissa Ring led the team with a fifth-place finish, followed by Taylor Zeisler in sixth, Ben Stevicks in 10th, Maddox Mayer in 11th and LaVeya Merrils in 31st.

Sept. 25, 2026 WASHINGTON — The Internal Revenue Service today announced the launch of the new IRS mobile app, replacing IRS2Go and expanding the agency’s digital services to give taxpayers more ways to securely access IRS tools and account services from their mobile devices.
