Gregory County 4-H celebrated its 2026 Achievement Days from Monday, August 3, to Wednesday, August 5, 2026 at the Burke Rodeo Grounds and Burke Civic Center. The event kicked off on Monday with the Cloverbuds exhibiting their animals and skills.
Citing historically low cattle inventories as its reason, Tyson Foods announced Thursday the closure of its Joslin, Illinois, beef facility – a 3,000-head-perday slaughtering plant; its Eagle Mountain, Utah, case-ready facility; and the sale of its Pasco, Washington, beef facility – a 2,000-headper- day slaughtering plant.
