A historic and multifaceted weather event brought damaging, hurricane- force winds to the Western and Central United States on December 18 and 19, 2025, causing widespread power outages, infrastructure damage, and dangerous wildfire conditions across at least 16 states.

Gregory 42 Chamberlain 60 The Gregory Gorillas hit the road for their first road game of the season as they traveled to Chamberlain on Tuesday, December 16, 2025, to take on the Cubs. Both teams had balanced scoring in the first quarter, and the game was tied 13-13 after one quarter.

On Saturday, December 13, 2025, Dale Reber, Gregory County Veterans Affairs Officer, representing Sons of the American Legion Squadron 6, conducted a wreathlaying ceremony at the grave of PFC Alfred Hutchison, after whom the Gregory American Legion Post is named.

Fatal Crashes: At 3:22 p.m. Monday, U.S. Highway 16A, mile marker 27: A 2002 Yamaha motorcycle, operated by a 63-year-old male, was traveling westbound on U.S. 16A near mile marker 27. The motorcycle left the roadway to the right, entered the westbound ditch, and overturned. The driver became separated from the motorcycle. The driver sustained fatal injuries.

Skipper Bros Guiding on Lake Francis Case, the bite is a little tough with all the bait fish around. It seems to be a better jig bite on the south end of the reservoir. There’s lots of bait, catfish, drum, and smaller-eater walleyes near the bridge area. Both jigging and trolling seem to be working equally well. It’s possible to get limits of decent fish!
