    The Classic Sense and Sensibility to premiere at Dixon Townhall Theatre

    The Gregory High School Theatre Department is proud to announce the opening of Sense and Sensibility this Thursday and Friday at 7:00 p.m. and Saturday at 1:30 p.m., April 16-18, 2026. The doors of the Dixon Townhall Theatre will open one half hour before performance time. Purchase your general admission tickets at the Gregory High School office. Tickets not sold prior to the performances will be sold at the door.

    BankWest Gregory partners with Federal Home Loan Bank of Des Moines to award $35,000 to area organizations through the Member Impact Fund

    BankWest, in partnership with Federal Home Loan Bank of Des Moines (FHLB Des Moines), is pleased to announce that the Gregory American Legion Post 6, Gregory Volunteer Fire Department, Gregory Athletics Club and Avera Gregory will receive a total of $35,000 in grant funding from the Member Impact Fund. This matching grant program will result in BankWest and FHLB Des Moines awarding $700,000 in funding to support affordable housing and community development in South Dakota communities.

    Commissioners network with other entities to develop hazard mitigation plan

    John Clem from Planning and Development District III met with representatives from various city and county agencies, other Planning & Zoning District III personnel, and the Corps of Engineers during the regular meeting of the Gregory County Commissioners on Tuesday, April 7, 2026, to discuss updates to the county’s hazard mitigation plan. Some of the items brought up for inclusion in the plan were an ordinance regarding open burns, prescribed burn plans, adding warning sirens in more remote areas such as Lucas and St. Charles, generator acquisitions for designated emergency shelters, tornado shelters, snow fences along some county roads, water conservation during droughts, and cedar tree removal.
