hoden As the 2026 Legislative Session wrapped up this week in Pierre, lawmakers have spent the past couple months working through the issues that matter most to South Dakotans. We accomplished a great deal, but one thing tops it all: we delivered the largest property tax cut in South Dakota history.

The National Park Service today announced fireworks will again illuminate the sky above Mount Rushmore National Memorial on July 3, 2026, to celebrate the country’s 250th anniversary. Public tickets for the event will be available through a lottery on Recreation. gov from April 8–12.

It was a case of “the stars aligning” that brought Tyson Serr back to Burke to start his own business, Serr AG Supply. Serr, a 2016 Burke High School graduate, went to work for Hefty Seed in Kimball after college.

Gregory High School senior Ryler Stevicks was sponsored by District 21 Senator Mykala Voita to serve as a page again this year in the state’s 101st legislature. Stevicks said he chose to work in the Senate again because he knew everyone on that side, where they sit, and how things work.
